Some stupid youngster tattoos local real estate developers logo on his forehead for a discount to buy land. Without knowing the exact terms of discount, nor if he’ll get a loan from the bank to purchase the piece of land. Oh the stupidity.

    There are many things that have been made illegal to protect people that don’t have the sense to say no – drugs, moonshine, playing in traffic, etc.

    I have no problem with tattoos as I have some myself (not on my face) and I doubt that many lives would be ruined if facial tattooing were illegal.

    However I guarantee this moron already regrets his decision and yes, this tattoo can and will ruin his life.

    So those who get stupid things that they regret, deserve to live with the consequences of their decisions. There’s always the “young and dumb” excuse, but that’s why there’s the 18 y/o age limit. People who want their face tattooed because it’s special to them or there is special heritage behind it (google “NZ moko”) should be allowed to do so, and should not be denied their wish because some retards refuse to think before they act.

    At the least the logo was a nice one.

    I agree with you on the level that there is a great misconception that “you can just get a tattoo removed” like it’s that simple. As you say it is a very long, crazily expensive and extremely painful process, and you may well get left with some scarring.

    However I completely disagree that facial tattooing should be made illegal. Tattoos are powerful and special, and it should be respected that they are designed to be permanent, like a marriage.

    Tattoo removal is very expensive, takes several sessions over a couple of years, and usually leaves scars. Also, it rarely removes 100% of the tattoo.

    This boy has just disfigured his face for life and will pay a much higher price for doing that than any amount of money he might make to get tattooed in the first place.

    This was clearly a VERY bad decision that he made and no amount of rationalizing can justify it. Facial tattooing needs to be made illegal to protect the stupid.
