Under what circumstances can a realty place refuse to let me move into a new place?

So, im planning on moving into a new place and im a little concerned that they may not let me move in because im not on a lease at my current place. Can they refuse to let me move in?

I also use to live in another apt complex and broke the lease with permission from the leasing agent and had someone else take over my lease… will this make my app look bad?
